For this price comparison, we use Exact Online Productie Geavanceerd and Odoo Enterprise as the basis. For the comparison, we assume a company with 20 users of the software. Because the functionality of both packages is not entirely the same, we included in the Odoo price calculation all apps whose functionality is mentioned in the overview. Adding these extra apps compensates (in price) for the missing functionalities in Odoo.

Summary
Exact has been the dominant force in business software in the Netherlands for years, and with Exact Online it has a good product that appeals to many people. What stands out is the choice of standard packages for trade, manufacturing, project management, or Hours & Invoices. We asked Exact about this, but it is not possible to combine the standard packages. So if you are a manufacturing company, you cannot do projects, and a trading company cannot do manufacturing. This choice by Exact is unfortunate, because in practice these functionalities do occur together within a company.
Capabilities
Odoo presents itself as an “All-in-one solution”. Based on your needs, you can install the Odoo Apps that you need in your company. If you are a wholesaler but also assemble products, that is possible. If you calculate the installation of your product based on hours worked, you can do that with Odoo. Odoo tries to help the user with everything that can happen in a company.
No limitations, but the power of integrating everything you need.
Flexibility
In today's world, everything moves quickly and as a company you need to be flexible. This also places many demands on your software solution. Neither Exact nor Odoo can guarantee a 100% match, and both therefore work with an App Store where you can add additional functionality to your package. Exact and Odoo differ in their approach here. Exact has chosen to connect everything. With a connection to extra functionality, you are dealing with an ‘Extra software package’. This extra package has its own ‘look and feel’, way of logging in, and way of working.
Odoo offers the possibility to fully adapt the software through the installation of Apps. Odoo has chosen not to connect but to integrate the extra functionality. This means that the functionality becomes part of Odoo and makes it easy for every user to find their way around. With Odoo Studio, Odoo has created a real winner. It gives every Odoo customer the possibility to adapt Odoo, such as by adding custom fields.
Price
Odoo's license price is more affordable than Exact Online, and with Odoo you also get more functionality. The costs for implementation and support have not been investigated.
